Lowest Attendance ever?

I'm no authority, but I'd guess in recent times it was in the first few weeks after 9/11. We were at the world about 2 weeks after it and I can remember standing in Future World by myself with "PUSH" the trashcan. It scared the bejeepers out of me when it started talking.

That was my guess.
If you're including international parks, I'm assuming an early day at Walt Disney Studios in Paris or Disneyland Hong Kong might take that record.
Why? Wouldn't it be packed on the opening days?

Yes, opening days might be packed. But the question was lowest attendance EVER. Some of the foreign parks have much lower capacities, so on low-attendance days, they are practically empty.

I remember reading that there were a couple thousand people in the parks in the days after 9/11
That might be true, just based on circumstance, and not quality of park. I'm speaking from what I've read about Hong Kong's attendance as well as my personal experience in Walt Disney Studios in Paris several times of year walking around feeling like I owned the place because nobody else was there. I have NO actual idea if that park has had the lowest attendance, but (potentially if you take out post-9/11 dates) I wouldn't be surprised if WDS or Disneyland Hong Kong ranked really low in lowest attendance.

Hong Kong was pretty busy when I went and it wasn't holidays. Probably because it is so small. But still, I was wondering exact day not park. And 9/11 the actual day would of been average just quiet at the end, people didn't know it was going happen.

I would definitely agree with 9/11...It would be interesting to find out for sure.

I wonder what people did when they were already there....I can't imagine being able/wanting to be there at all during that time.

I'm sure there were plenty of early checkouts that night. No one would of wanted to be in a highly populated area.

Where would they have gone? Just an offsite place, maybe?? Since the airways were closed, people couldn't fly in or out.

No idea, but I assume they weren't pumped for a fun day of disney magic. Then again, some might of thought it is the perfect distraction.

I'd say immediately after September 11th would be the best bet for WDW. In case you don't remember (and it's scary that we can have intelligent conversation now with those that don't!), those were just scary, bad times. I'm sure most people who were there at the time finished their trips, but I wouldn't be surprised if a significant number of people just left WDW early and drove home on/right after 9/11. Then, add in the fact that air travel in the U.S. was completely shut down for (IIRC) three days, and there's a huge number of people that physically couldn't get there to start their vacations... people from all over the country and all of the overseas visitors.

That being said, I swear I've heard Al Lutz say that there were days where DCA 1.0 had fewer than 2,000 people in the park. That's just obscenely low, and I'd be surprised if any of the WDW parks touched that on any day. If I'm remembering correctly, that is.
