Lost WDW Rides

I have read in a few articles about Fantasyland rides for WDW that were originally planned for the park but never built.
Sleeping Beauty - The "Scary Ride"
Sleepy Hollow - The "Crazy Ride"
Mary Poppins - The "Beautiful Ride"
I know why they were not built (cost reasons & other things)
Thing is I have never heard any details of these proposed rides.
Does anyone have information about these unbuilt WDW rides?

Sounds quite interesting! Where did you find these articles?

Just a guess, but Disney may not want to invest the resources in those attractions because the movies are not very popular now. Many of the new MK attractions have been based on popular movies/cartoons (Aladdin, Winnie the Pooh, Buzz Light Year, Stitch). At least my kids never watch Marry Poppins or Sleeping Beauty.

I think that a Mary Poppins attraction is needed somewhere in WDW. By the way, my 4 year old nephew absolutely loves Mary Poppins. It would be another great way to connect generations.

Originally, the Magic Kingdom was supose to have those three rides insteed of Snow White, Mr. Toad, and Peter Pan. Suposedly Walt's brother Roy nixed the idea, saying that the park should have the same rides as the original Disneyland. Sleeping Beauty would have been a scary ride like Snow White through Malificent's castle, the Sleepy Hollow a funny/ scary ride in the same style of Toad through the Sleepy Hollow and Terry Town with the Headless Horseman behind you. Mary Poppins would have included a flight over London like Pan, but finish with a trip into Bert's sidewalk painting insteed of Neverland. That's about as much as I know.

That was the Enchanted Snow Palace. It was a ride for Fantasyland that was to be populated by various Snow Queens and Princesses. Marc Davis thought up the idea because he figured that people in Florida would love wintery themed attractions. It really didn't have anything to do with Fantasia or any other Disney film though. It was supose to be an original concept like Haunted Mansion or Pirates. Never happened though.

I would have loved to see these attractions. I was never into peter pan as a movie, and to be honest, i did't like snow white that much either (don't shoot me). I love sleeping Beauty. It's my favorite movie and I loved Mary Poppins too. I would have preferred these rides, but then again, I can understand roy's feelings of making the two parks simular

Sleepy Hollow would work great in Liberty Square, near the Haunted Mansion. That area needs more rides, and the theming is perfect for that area!

Thanks for the info, I had heard about Roy changing the plans, too bad. As someone mentioned, no they were not the most popular movies (Sleep Hollow anyways). But something different would have been great!
I'm not sure if this was true or not, but I think I read that the Marry Poppins ride would have been aboard an upside down umbrella suspended from an overhead ride track like Peter Pan.
Does this sound familiar to anyone?

I can't talk about WRE, too painful. After Discovery Bay it's the greatest unbuilt Disney Project.

In my opinion:
1. Discovery Bay
2. WRE
3. Discovery Mountain (DLP)

Don't quote me but the first time I heard of these were an old Jim Hill Article. After that I saw them mentioned on other sites and a couple of books.
I have never heard of exact story concepts or sketches.
