I'm not sure why, but this year I cannot get into planning another Disney trip. Our last trip was right before Christmas. Normally shortly after getting home I'm already pining for another trip and start planning. So far this year I'm just not feeling it. My boys are 11 and 5 so still young enough to enjoy the Magic. Does anyone else go through this? Will I snap out of it?:(

You may be over saturating yourself with Disney. This happened to us and now we only go every four years which is great as it gives things enough time to change. Try a year out and do something different and visit different places. WDW isn't going anywhere any time soon lol

Also the amount of threads bashing Disney these days has also put me off visiting.

I am in that boat right now and we leave in 5 days. I know exactly why it is and it will pass, but it is a pain to get excited right now. The main issue at this point is having work closed out before I go. I will work in the very early mornings, but not during the day. When they finally realize I am gone, they will be asking why they delayed all of my work and meetings. All I can do is get what I can done, board my plane Wed night, and then forget about it and enjoy my trip.

I know how you feel, but I usually get over it quick. Being local the wife and I go all the time, but sometimes we plan 3-4 days of straight Disney. By the end of the 3rd or 4th day I start thinking, "We'll hold off on Disney for a month or two." But by the end of the following week I start getting withdrawal pains and can't wait to walk through those gates again.

I know that feeling well...frustrating, but just hang in there (and turn your phone off in the parks!)

I've been down this road a couple of times. As others have said, you may need to mix things up a little bit. Maybe consider a different kind of trip as others have said. It could be Disney related like a DCL cruise or something completely un-Disney related (we promise not to shun you too much). Usually after we get back from a trip to WDW, my fiancee and I tell each other that this is the last Disney trip for a while. My parents like to do a big family trip once a year (usually a non-Disney cruise) and it is on that trip where we decide that we want to start looking into our next Disney trip.

i'm not sure how y'all feel. when i live in Florida i had yearly passes and visited parks over that year at least 12 times form 1 to 3 days each time. other than that year we have visited another 7 times. I STILL FEEL LIKE I HAVEN"T SEEN OR EXPERIENCED EVERYTHING, and always find something new. there are so many interactive games now and new little corners each year. i just feel like if you do a little research there is some way of expeiencing the WORLD that you have not tried yet. If you hsvr donr it all then maybe it is time for a break. it is the research of things that i haven't done and figuring out how to do it and ride the rides i love that make the planning fun. Also, maybe you just need to book and wing it...very little planning.

I can honestly say I have never felt this way, but my first trip to WDW was in 2007 at 30 years old. So, although I can't feel your pain I can say don't beat yourself up. You just got back from vacay, do you really have to plan another right away? A vacay isn't a vacay if you aren't excited about getting a chance to get away or relax. If Disney doesn't do it for you, take a trip to the beach or go skiing or something that isn't so centered around characters and rides. Trying new experiences and just spending time with each other is what it is all about. I always say the best thing about vacation is coming home. So maybe in order to appreciate Disney as home, you need a vacay from it. That will make the next trip to WDW like it is going home all over again. :D

Once you are there the kids excitement and atmosphere of it all will bring you back. If it doesn't maybe a break wouldn't be so bad. My husband said this last trip that we might pop over to Universal the next time we come for a day. I always insist he leave his work phone at the resort hoping he will relax and enjoy his break. I dearly hope you have a a wonderful trip with your family and hopefully the magic of it all will be there waiting.:)

During dinner at a restaurant last year, one of my Disney obsessed buddies announced she was thinking of selling her DVC and didn't want to travel to WDW again.... which was odd since she was the one who really got me hooked and also a DVC member.... Another friend who was with us said that maybe she needed to think about it before selling and saying she 'lost the Disney magic'.... But she was adamant that she had no interest in going and was talking about her health, her finances, her issues.....

Fast forward three months and not only did she take a trip with a different friend, but she was planning on a Disney cruise and another trip to the world....and said she had a great trip and loves Disney more than ever.

Moral of the story.... sometimes other things happen in life that have us forget about Disney for a while and keep our thoughts occupied elsewhere. Doesn't mean your love for Disney is any less, but sometimes we all need to change it up to keep it fresh.....

Due to finances I haven't been able to go for several years now :( They say you always want most that thing you cannot have. I think perhaps the opposite is also true, if a thing is easily obtained, then you don't desire it as much.
