You're thinking of the Southern California CityPass that includes a 3 day Disneyland Resort Parkhopper plus a day at SeaWorld San Diego and Universal Studios Hollywood. I too am not sure I'd call it a fight in California. There is a massive local market and Universal Studios Hollywood is small and saw even less investment than Universal Orlando Resort before Comcast. If anything this is more a decision to make Universal Studios Hollywood more of a theme park with a studio tour than a studio tour with a theme park. Please correct me if I'm wrong but "The Battle" in CA isn't like what it is here in FL. I "think" You can even by passes on Disneyland's website that include tix to UNI Hollywood.
I do agree Disney needs to get it in gear over here in FL. But When you see Comcast (a.k.a the devil) deciding to pour that much money into something, you need to step it up. I hope they do.
I myself haven't been to Uni ever. So I cannot compare.
Comcast was horrible. We had their cable for years because we had no other choice (no other cable provider, can't get satellite where we live). Verizon came, we switched, we've never looked back. Their technicians were incompetent, their customer service horrible, and their service fair at best. Even if Comcast offered us a fantastic deal we would not return to them. Verizon's customer service is better, technicians are more competent, and their service is more reliable. Only a handful of times in four years have we ever had to call them to complain or have them fix something; with Comcast it was a bimonthly occurrence, and nothing really got doneI feel sorry for all the comcast customers with all the money they are putting out at the parks and trying to buy time warner cable inc for $45.2 billion
This is Disneyland we're talking about. They've been stepping up their game. DL has way more attractions than MK, and DCA has evolved and grown into a great park. Both parks are better than any of the parks at WDW, though I still prefer WDW overall (still more at WDW overall).Yeah! I read that earlier today.
I'm actually glad that Disney has competition breathing down their necks. Now, if only they notice it, and start stepping up their game.
This will either end really badly for Disney fans, or really well depending on what Disney decides to do to stay in the game with Universal building like crazy, expanding, and building out hotel resorts.
It'll be interesting to watch, if nothing else...
I was in the same boat and did the same thing about 6 years agoComcast was horrible. Competition only works if all parties involve recognize the situation.Competition is good for everyone involved. Fans of either park or both like myself win![]()

How is an "anti-Disney zing" when it is the strategy that was employed at Walt Disney World and when the Disneyland Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood are still quite different? Disney's position is Southern California is a lot more secure than its position in Florida.Oh look a witty anti Disney zing.....![]()
