Just got home from another Saturday afternoon at the Magic Kingdom with my son Ben. Twelve times on Snow White's Scary Adventures today, bringing his grand total to 1025. Personally, I've kind of reached the Zen of Snow White at this point.

Anyway, the weird malfunction this afternoon is that in the mirror scene the witch is rotated 180 degrees out of sync. You come through the doorway, see the magic mirror, turn the corner, and there is the witch glaring at you with her arms outstretched while the wicked queen is behind her in the mirror also facing you. Then the two spin around like a synchronized ballet, both turning their backs to you. It is a very odd malfunction, and I feel badly for all of the people who went on it today not knowing what was supposed to happen there. The mirror scene is a really cool effect, and it kind of sucks to see it spoiled like this. I am betting it will be repaired after hours tonight, but don't quote me on that.

Also, just before entering the mine shaft there is a lamp out that usually illuminates the witch from below. With that light gone you just see the two vultures overhead, and then the witch lurking and cackling in the shadows. I actually kind of liked it that way more than having her lit up.

Oh, and Dopey and Sneezy are still MIA from the yodeling scene.

I've seen the ride do this before. A CM just needs to run inside and press a little button to syncronize the two figures. It's not a very high tech ride.

I can't believe Dopey and Sneezy are still MIA. That is very odd.

Thanks for the update! I'm so glad to hear about another successful day on SWSA! We were rolling out of MK this morning a few hours before you all were in, probably! We left there about 5 am from Grad Nite.

I LOVE your avatar! Adorable!

I can't believe that Dopey and Sneezy are still missing! What a scandal!

Give my regards to Ben.

Great update as always. I'm a bit sad that Dopey & Sneezy are still MIA. I hope they don't disapear for good now because they need to be there.

I was a Fantasyland East Attractions (Dumbo, Snow, Pooh, Teacups) CP in the fall of 2002. The rotating mirror feature is just a button to push. There's one button that rotates the queen (in the mirror) and one that rotates the witch (in front of the mirror.)

There aren't showkeepers for specific attractions, although each of the Fantasyland managers "specialized" in one attraction, basically making them the equivalent.

Well there you have it. You can go on a ride a thousand times, and still see something new. I mentioned the malfunction to the CM running the unloading panel, so odds are somebody ran in and pressed the button shortly thereafter.

Someday I would love to get a backstage tour of that ride. I think I've just about earned it at this point.

You don't need a backstage tour. I know you've ridden it with the lights on before. That's about as backstage as you get considering there is nothing high tech to the ride or special to see. It's kinda one of those what you see is what you get rides. Although it is fun, yet creepy, to walk that ride.

Nope. I just got back from the Kingdom today and rode Snow White. It was still malfunctioning. I thought it was odd that they were so out of sync. It was still exactly as how you described it.
