Location Request?

My DW and I have been DVC members since we bought into SSR in 2006.:sohappy: Since then, we've only used our points to stay in NYC at one of the Concierge Collection hotels, but have yet to stay in WDW at SSR. We have reservations for a one bedroom this coming May to visit the Flower and Garden Festival at EPCOT and we can't wait.:sohappy: When I made our reservations, I did not request any specific location. I think it would be great to have a lake view of DTD, yet still be relatively close to the SPA, food, and store etc...

My question is as follows:

Should we request a specific location or take it as it comes? If so, where would you suggest and why? We will be driving to FL so we'll have our car, but it would still be nice to be close to things.

If I make a request, should I call member services and do that now or wait until we arrive?

We'll be staying at Vero Beach for a night before we arrive at SSR...no kids because they are both in college now...I'm going crazy while counting the days!:hammer:

You should call member services asap! Requests are not guaranteed, but in most cases are granted. If it's busy, chances are less to get all requests. If you don't get what you want, you can always complain. That usually works for us.

Sometimes it's better to see the room before you complain.

We went down in Dec. Stayed a Old Key West(Our home resort). Requested water view. Did not get water view, but what we did get was even nicer. I view of the lighthouse at the Main house and a view of the fountain in one of the water areas. Also a gorgeous view of the sunrise with all that in the background. Just remember that a request is not guaranteed, but definately call them back and note that on your reservation. If you want a DTD view, make the request for Congress Park. That is the section with the DTD view. I am doing the same thing in April and had noted on my ressie Congress Park DTD view upper floor. Good luck! :wave:
