I'm currently taking a business class on operations and am fascinated by the whole thing and was going to use a Disney ride for a project/HW/Discussion...however I won't be down there until the semester is almost over...I was wondering if anyone down there currently could ride say, Splash. And while waiting to board, time the period it takes from when a boat pulls into the loading station until the first boat leaves the loading area. So here is a diagram:
B -> Loading Deck -> A
Time from when B arrives to when A leaves...and maybe if you're amazing...how long B is on the loading platform before it departs.

I know this sounds weird, but I think it's fascinating...and can see how Disney probably takes all of this into account during design. (hopefully lol)

Thanks again you all are the best!

You will have no trouble finding this type of information...and I suspect someone on here could recite it off the top of their head.

Something to note with Splash, and others, is that the dispatch intervals (which is what you're ultimately looking for) will change based on the intended hourly ride capacity. For instance, if it's a slow day and they only have half the logs in the flume, the dispatch interval will be much longer than it would be on a peak summer day when the flume is full.

Thus, on a busy day, logs will be dispatched almost two at a time (with the minimum required safety buffer) and each pair will be very close to the next pair. While on a slow day, each log will sit at the dispatch point (just after load) for a little longer, putting more space between the logs as they float through the ride.

The spacing is re-equalized at each hold point for the 5 drops.

This applies, for the most part to the other boat rides like Pirates and Small World as well. And, really, it applies in some way to most of their vehicular rides, excluding omnimovers.

I guess what I'm getting at is that your analysis will either need to cover a range of time, or you'll want to pick one specific day and use it as an example.

Good luck on the project.
