LL Multi Pass for Holidays

Waiting 45 minutes in line for a ride - you get to talk to your kids. Talk to your wife (or significant other). Maybe plan for dinner. Maybe start talking about what you are doing tomorrow. In short. You are communicating.

I couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve overheard this type of conversation

Dad: Honey, are you going to buy anything here? Make it quick we need to be across the park in 15 minutes.

Mom: Don’t know yet. I like it but not at this price.

Daughter: wow the check out line is long. You better make up your mind now.

Dad: (forcefully). That’s it we gotta go.

Mom: But I haven’t decided.

Daughter: Mom, we gotta go.

Mom: (irritated) fine

Son: I gotta go to the bathroom

Dad, Mom, and Daughter: C’mon. Can’t you hold it. We’re going to miss the window.

And that is how family memories are made.
Why is the Mom the one who wants to buy something but is too indecisive and scatterbrained to keep to the schedule? Not to mention the Dad being the forceful one and the daughter whining about the lines?

Sounds like the characters from a 50’s sitcom! Do better 😉

I’m sorry but that really did strike me as funny because I imagined the same scenario with my family:

My husband would be in the bathroom; I would be the one complaining about him sitting in there on his phone; my son would have immediately gotten into line with no items; my daughter would be texting him and throwing things in a basket regardless of price. 😆

We do fine with schedules and pre-booked rides because they guarantee we can get what we want at our preferred times.

But I can understand how someone who lives locally and visits often would prefer to just go with the flow.

And for people trying to “get their money’s worth” these days, I’m not sure that’s ever going to happen again.

Disney was much better with free FP+
I really feel like people’s dislike of LL have made them forget that the various free variants of FP weren’t very good either. The same problems people have with LL (beyond price) are the same problems that existed with previous iterations.

The reality is a skip the line system needs to be a premium price ($100+) so that not everyone and their mother is attempting to use it. Universal knows this, Six Flags knows this, and Disney knows this but doesn’t care because they can market it as cheaper than other parks’ skip the lines and make all that free cash.

I could deal with the free problems.
