The Laughing Place reports that after just one week in release, Walt Disney Records' The Lizzie McGuire Movie soundtrack debuted at #1 on Billboard's Soundtrack chart and at #18 on Billboard's Top Album chart with 50,836 units sold its first week, while Hilary Duff's "Why Not" music video debuted at #10 on MTV's TRL. The actress also hosted the TRL show yesterday.

Interesting ... but I doubt it'll last long. Only a set group of people like LM; there are also many people who don't. Have you noticed that online, there seems to be a "very set" # of young LM fans?

A lot of girls at school have been talking almost non-stop about the film opening this weekend. Not my cup of tea, thank you. I'll tale X2: X-Men United instead but the girls seem to be really hyped about it.

I like the "Holes" soundtrack. I would like to see that promoted, too. It seems like Disney was all ready for LM, but really had no idea what to do with "Holes." Which is too bad, because it is really a great movie and soundtrack....
