Living With The Land Re-Opening Delayed?

Dagnabit. I'm going to be there October 10-20 and I was hoping
for an early re-open.

Someone on this forum, somewhere, at some time, thought that it
might reopen early. And you can take that to the bank. :ROFLOL:

Yeah I heard they are putting Hemi's in them, and that the ride is now sponsored by Dodge. I must confess I don't get the connection, but hey.
If a paper towel company can sponsor a car stunt show and a t-shirt company can sponsor a rock n roll themed roller coaster then by god a car company can sponsor a nature themed boat ride.

From what I've been told, the new boats are too large for the flume. So now they're deciding whether or not to put what's left of the old boats back in, ripping out all the new systems (wasn't clear on that part) and reopening, then reclosing again in January. Or, just keep trying to fix the problem as of right now.

Eegads.

Measure twice, cut once, that's what I've always gone by.

Well, all I can hope for is that they throw in the towel
for a bit and open it with the old boats while I'm there!

But, yeesh, how do these things happen?

Me either. I also don't get why they dismantle the old boats as soon as they're out of the flume, rather than waiting for the new ones to arrive and make sure everything operates ok.

We were there a week ago and did the Behind the Seeds tour. I saw no work being done on the canal except for cleaning. In fact it still was full of water.

We did see all the boats high and dry behind one of the green houses.

I suspect they are staying with the current boats and just doing a lot of maintanence on the system and also updating the movies.

Thank you for the pictures! By the looks of it, I'll have to schedule
Behind the Seeds rather than hope that the boats will be in the flume
by mid-October.

Or, I dunno. lol, just musing.

Thanks for those pics. I didn't know they used a little boat thing to clean the flume. That's the job I want, it would be so fun!
