:goodnevil They have been gone for over 2 years---- VERY sad!!!! I loved looking at the MK one especially watching main street, the castle, and ummmmmmmm how many people were there! Sure helped with my Disney home sickness.

Swan and Dolphin is the only one up  You can see Space Ship Earth, the weather, helps a little-- BUT " PLEASE " turn them back on------- :D

Let's see maybe Patrick or Photo Dave could find the switch? Ha Ha and turn them back on??? Rob??? What do you think???

It would be "FAN"tastic! I would LOVE to see the livecams come back so we can all enjoy them as we dream of returning to the Magic of WDW. :king:

they will not return for several reasons...it comes down to losing more money than you gain from having them. Pretty much anyone who would check those cameras out is already planning on coming to WDW, and spending their money on Disney...so you don't really make money from them.

Electricity shouldn't be an issue, when they use the amount of power a hosue uses in a year all for the launch on RnRC. Doesn't even compare. That's like $5 more a month.

The web cams will never be available to the public again. WDW and Disneyland are American icons that are on the list of possible terrorist targets. In addition, Disney has (for many years now) refused to make their park visitation figures public information. Live web cams would clearly show the daily visitation in each park.

P.S. The cams are still functioning, but they are only available to the Disney company.

So, anyone got the web address for the cameras that Disney has access to :) Seriously, I don't think the cameras would truly show the park visitation figures, as the cameras wouldn't have high enough resolution or be close enough. Also, they could make the cameras off-line during this time. I would love to see the cameras go back up - RESTORE THE MAGIC!!

cost? LOL a webcam cost just nothing!
I run many at home and didnt hurt my economy, so why will hur disneys?
if you tell me security, that could be a good reason, even the Universal one that was 100 times better cause was robotic, it is down

I have this website to see how orlando is in real time, even I cant see
disney but watching orlando is a little relief :)

I highly doubt the reason for taking down the cams was cost. Once you have purchased the cameras, the only things your paying for are power to run the camera, and a public IP address to broadcast on the net. They have plenty of both!!

Security is the most likely reason, I think the fact that someone could check the cam and see how large a crowd is in WDW (i.e. terrorist threat) is more of an issue that giving out exact figures on turnstile numbers.

Where, exactly, were/are these cameras in their respective parks? I've looked for them while there, but have never been successful.
