Well whoever takes on the role of script writer has a big job ahead of them as the original material is bleak and to create a live action fully developed screen play would need a lot more material to fill out the story. Just having Chernabog summoning the dead isn't exactly the deepest story line and certainly would not fill an hour+ movie.

Unnecessary backstory! How did a little Slavic deity come to be known as the black god? Is he truly evil or just misunderstood and misrepresented by the truly villainous Virgin Mary, Mother of God?

I can't see them borrowing ideas from Musslrgsky's original tone poem concepts.
