So another little mermaid refurb is coming to the DCA attraction. This time September 6th-september 28th. Any guesses as to what the work will consist of? Is this the rumored new ending work?

I have no guesses, in terms of the actual ride. The queue could use some sprucing up.

The best things Mermaid's got going for itself are the fantastic air conditioning and the queue, which I happen to love more than the ride itself.

Unless someone at Imagineering came up with a brilliant way to quickly transform that lame, tiny "angry Ursula in the backbground" scene into something more impressive, I wouldn't get my hopes up. Maybe they're putting "GotG" shirts on every single character.

And the Under the Sea scene will now be dubstep.

Could be that some of the figures need sprucing...aren't they specially painted to work with black light? Maybe there has been some fading here and there. Of course, it's a short refurb so it could just be nothing more than normal maintenance throughout versus any type of upgrades/updates.

Tiny Ursula looks so out of place as a result as you transition from Kiss The Girl to the finale.

A thought: The refurb's enough time to replace the tiny cutout with an edited digital projection loop of Ursula's death scene from the film. It wouldn't be the greatest solution, but it would be an improvement.

(EDIT) And have a fish squirt water into the riders' faces to wake them up for the finale.
