Little light to carry on the rides for toddlers?

Hello! I was wondering if anyone brings any kind of small light for their young children to carry on the rides in case they get scared of the dark? What do you bring? I was thinking a true flashlight would be distracting to other riders but was hoping to help my DD3 feel like she has some control over the situation. Thank you!

I would say something that glows without a lens or exposed bulb, but isn't too "busy" with things moving (like the spinning Buzz, Mickey, Tinkerbell things) which would be distracting to other riders.

Years ago I seem to recall seeing toys for kids that were essentially Mickey's head on the end of a flashlight.

At some of the Disney Restaurants (Prime Time for sure) they sell drinks with glowing Pirates or Tinkerbells on the glasses. They can be clamped onto clothing and turned on or off whenever you like. These are bright enough for kids but not distracting enough for other guests.

On my daughter's first trip she was five and I bought her a small flashlight. She only used it a few times after that she knew what to expect and she did not need it.

Taking a small light for a toddler or child afraid of the dark is a great idea. That little bit of perceived safety can easily make the difference between a great or horrible experience on an attraction.

Like other posters have already mentioned, be considerate of others. A full size flashlight would easily distract other guests. I've heard of other folks using a small penlight or similar, or using a small 'slowing' toy the child likes.

Have fun!

On my recent trip to WDW with my sister and her family, I learned that my sister had purchased a very small keychain flashlight for my 4 yr old neice especially for the dark rides. She kept it in her lap and I didn't think it was distracting at all.

It's a good idea for the little ones who are still unsure about the dark.

Just returned yesterday from the World and my DD (3) bought a stick light in the MK, I don't even remember where, but it was on a cart, and it is about 4-5 inches long, and has various LED colored lights in it (sort of like those spinners). We used it all week and it was great.
