Quick question on lines. I have the opportunity next week to go to DHS and ride Star Tours, but have to work during the day and won't make it to the park until 6. I'm expecting really long lines for ST and was wondering when they shut the line down so no more people can ride? If it's a two hour line do they shut it down two hours before the park closes or does the line close at 10:00 when the park closes and everyone in line gets to ride through? Thanks in advance!

I'm not exactly sure but in my experience with lines. You can always enter the line until the park closes. Thus if its a 2 hour line and the park is open until 10:00 the line will allow people to enter until 10:00 with the possibility of running the attraction until midnight because of the lines length.

One time, I was at Epcot EMH and I entered the soarin' line at park close (midnight) I didn't get on the ride until about 12:45 and was in the last flight. They let me and another small group ride the attraction a second time with the remaining 5 people who did not get on the previous flight. I ended up exiting the park roughly at 1 am having to walk through a pitch black world showcase (they had turned off all lighting). The ropes they set-up in the morning while WS is still closed were already up and I fell over it because I couldn't see it. The parks are very good with how many people are left in the park. When I got to the International Gateway they said they were waiting on one person to exit the park so they could close it down. I guess soarin' (and other rides) communicate with the gates on how many people are estimated to be in the queue and re-estimate on how many people exit the attraction. I was very surprised when they said that they new only one person was remaining in the park

More information than you needed but the short answer is yes you can enter the line until the park closes.

Disney will always let you enter the line right up until park closing.

One night, my friend and I wanted to be the on the last flight at Soarin', so we stood by the entrance to the ride, told the CM what we wanted to do, and he told us exactly when to enter. As soon as we did, he put the rope across the entrance.

They may try a few ways of subconsciously tricking you into *not* joining a long line near closing time (like listing a longer wait time than it really will be, "stacking" the line so that from the outside it appears longer than it really is), but anyone who is actually in the line at the posted park closing time will get to ride, no matter how late it is.

We were running to try and hop in line for TSM on night, and the park closed at 10:00; it was 9:59. The CM at the line was yelling "Hurry! Hurry! I can still let you in if its before 10!" We got there just in time. They closed the queue behind us.
