Lilly Belle like you’ve (probably) never seen her before!

Well, for some of us (mainly railfans), we know that the Walt Disney World Railroad’s Lilly Belle is the locomotive named after Walt’s wife, Lilly, and was sent out for a one year (cough cough 5 or 6 year cough cough) rebuild and returned in 2016. She is partly computerized (emphasis on PARTLY) with electronic ignition, which upset at lest some railfans. But when she was parked at main street, I took a video up close and personal, and, while filming, in the corner of my eye as I showed the firebox, I noticed some something running from there, and it turned out to be Lilly’s ignition system! I screen shotted my find and have decided to share it here! I also filmed Lilly yesterday going through the space mountain crossing from the temporary exit pathway (it’s there while they work on the speedramp), and today went through the video frame by frame as the locomotive herself went through the crossing and screen shotted what I believed to be wiring (well the insulation at least) running to the firebox as well as the boxes under the fireman’s side of the cab, the side I filmed from. Please excuse the strange color tone of some of these as I may have accidentally and subconsciously adjusted my phone’s AF/AE too high. The reason why these may look clear though are because I filmed in 4K at 60FPS.
Enjoy, all!

Thanks for the photos!
Evidently they weren't too worried about how it looks since very few people ever see the fireman's side of the locomotive.
I guess now if a fireman doesn't want hairy arms they will have to shave them rather than having the blow back burn the hair off. ;)

Well, there’s always seeing the train from either the entrance area of Magic Kingdom (before you go under the station), splash mountain’s queue, or the area outside the gift shop at splash mountain (where the restrooms are). Then again, that’s more like seeing the fireman’s side from a distance.
As for the hairy arms, I guess maybe since Walter is still out and if he gets the same computerization, the firemen should talk to their manager to have them pass on a message to the right person to let strasburg know that they want an option where the computerization can do something about the hairy arms. Maybe they could add an automatic arm shaver, but I think to create one is just another hairy situation (pun intended).

Great photos! I did the Magic Behind the Steam Trains Tour last Wednesday, and I noticed the updates to Lilly Belle (she was heading out for the day when we were coming in behind Roger).

I impressed the Cast Member when I said I knew where Walter is, and when someone else on the tour asked where, all I said was it was the same spot Lilly was overhauled and updated.
