Lights of Winter pin preview

So apparently, Disney had a media event featuring a look at upcoming holiday items. One of which is apparently an epcot pin showing the Lights of Winter.

Stirring the pot here, but...mere nostalgia or hint of possible return?

I am gearing more toward nostalgia. Honestly, I think Disney is getting a kick out of bringing old stuff back to life in a sense with pins/t-shirts/etc. I've seen a few Horizons t-shirts on sale in the parks (or at least people wearing them).

Soon we will have Disney Quest and Great Movie Ride pins...

It's a good looking pin. But as much as I'd LOVE to see the Lights of Winter come back, I don't see it happening.

They also have a pin with Mr. Toad. Means nothing.

They made the announcement in 2009 that the Lights would no longer be installed for the holidays. Thomas Smith of the official Disney blog tweeted: Yes... the Lights of Winter canopy has been enjoyed for years. But the technology to operate the lights is obsolete, prompting us to retire the lights and find a new experience.

that's such an odd ending to it... might be the lamest excuse to discontinue anything ever. But looking at the pins I think that might just be a generic background so it s not just blank space.
