For the first time in internet history, a video of the show light magic is being shown at www.visionsfantastic.com

I think the show had some amazing special effects, however, it was too cutesy especially with the dancing children on the projected videos on the floats.

Viewer Discression advised! The theme song has some IASW qulities to it, and some small children may be frightened and those prone to motion sickness should skip this video.

OH thank goodness! I've always wondered what all the fuss was about!

I know I had the soundtrack to it somewhere and I did like the music...

Holy crap this is like the Holy Grail of all Disneyland Videos for me (Right Next to a full video of the queue and attraction of Rocket Rods). I can't wait to watch this thing. I pretty much have the audio track memorized.

I was so waiting for that all last night.

Honestly, I thought it was a pretty decent show, undeserving of the horrible rep it's gotten. It was imaginative, cute, had great music, and those fiber optic effects were amazing!

Was it perfect? Of course not. For one, I felt like the riverdancing just kept going on and on and on and on with no point to it. A big chunk of that opening number could have been cut out, IMHO. Also, I felt there were too many pixies and too few characters, which is a bit awkward for a Disney "parade."

All in all, I wish this one had stuck around for awhile. Yes, it had issues, but I think if they had continued it, there would have been chances for it to evolve, and to fix some of those aspects that were so troublesome.

BTW, does anyone know if those fiber optic effects along Main Street are still in place? It might be neat if they were to make appearances at other times, like during show stops at night showings of PoD or something.

OK I just got done watching it and I'm speechless. THAT was what was supposed to be so horrible and so tragic? Sure it wasn't perfect and it wasn't a parade, but I thought that was ONE HECK OF A SHOW. And that's what it was: a show. Anyone expecting a parade had to have been disapointed, but Disney did stress that this was a streetacular or streetshow. I liked the music, I thought the performances were good, and it had a decent original story. This show could have definately been fined tuned a little and it could have become a classic, IMO. But the fact that the first showing had so many technical issues and it had to follow the MSEP, it was almost doomed from the start. They should have sent this show to Orlando and I think it would have been a big hit. It's no secret that most of the time WDW fans are much easier to please than DL fans. I can't figure out why DL fans were so mad. I honestly can't.

Exactly! I think the key here is that it followed MSEP. I think a lot of people were still sore over that, and it made them bitter towards this one from the start. The disaster preview night didn't help... but if I recall, didn't they bill that as a rehearsal? Plus, I think that once word got out about the crowd reaction that night, people were probably quick to just jump on the Light-Magic-hatin' bandwagon.

Don't get me wrong I can see their point of view......mainly because I have a very similiar situation myself going on in the MK's Tomorrowland

I guess my biggest point is that I think that alot of people were expecting it to be like MSEP and be this long, spectacular parade. And that is not AT ALL what Light Magic was. Actually I personally expected to see alot more of a parade type presentation than what was there, but I also really liked how they set this show up too. So while I can see why huge fans of the MSEP and big fans of nighttime "parades" in general might have been disapointed, I still would think they would have eventually liked this show. It was pretty obvious to me that the quality and effort was there. This wasn't some cheap, off the shelf, quickly thrown together show.

I think the biggest reason so many people didn't like this was because they were expecting something totally different when they saw it first. BUT I would think that after seeing it again and knowing what the show was really like, they would have liked it and appreciated it alot more.
