Lifetime Joins in Biz Mag Jag
HOLLYWOOD (Variety) -- Lifetime magazine, a joint venture between the Lifetime women's cable channel and the Hearst media empire, will hit shelves in March as a bimonthly covering fashion, beauty, food and relationships. Lifetime magazine, which will join Hearst's other television-based magazines ESPN The Magazine and O, The Oprah Magazine, is slated to launch as a bimonthly in March and go monthly with the September 2003 issue. Lifetime Entertainment is jointly owned by The Hearst Corp. and The Walt Disney Co., which also is joint publisher of the ESPN magazine. Sally Koslow has been named editor-in-chief. She was editor-in-chief of McCall's from 1994 until its final issue in 2001. The magazine's publisher has yet to be named. Launched in 1984, Lifetime reaches more than 85 million US households.
