I think all of us on this Imagineering forum should write letter to Disney (*cough*lasseter*cough*) presenting the idea of a new division of the company/Imagineering division called YARG, the Young Adult Referral Group. It woupd be group where the company/Imagineers show young people, like us, some aspiring new ideas they have thought of, AND let us present some of our own ideas and feedback. But, there would have to be trustworthy members of YARG. Done now, on my way to Oz... ;)

They won't request anything from anyone outside the company. I've already spoken to a Disney attorney about this. Disney uses the enterprise model of generating/securing ideas and IP only "as needed", and only internally or with established vendors, and they do not seek ideas, inventions, etc. outside of the company just for the sake of doing it. For example, Disney decides to build new themed area A and needs technologies X, Y, and Z. So they check vendors and find X and then they go and create Y and Z internally. They do this because they don't want to be accused of stealing IP or ideas. The only way to get Disney to listen to your ideas or IP is to be an employee and even then it's pretty hard to get noticed. It's just the way Disney is now, kinda sad, they are really limiting themselves. It's like someone who goes to the store just to buy milk, bread, and hamburger and never deviates even if the store has big ads for great deals on the newest most fantastic foods.

I am kinda glad they don't take suggestions from others. Only like 1/10 ideas people come up with are even worth looking into. It's odd how people can't even pinpoint what it is exactly they like about Disney rides, they just do.

If kids decided how the parks were ran we'd have 50 lands in each park all based on movies, and they'd be packed with E-Tickets made up completely of 3D screens and roller coasters.

Well, then let's just let this thread die.

Hey, sorry to be such a downer about all this. It really sucks that it is this way. Didn't use to be like this. Walt would have loved your idea and would have gone with it. He didn't get all bent out of shape about IP. He often encouraged people to patent their inventions! Can you imagine that??!! You got a heart like Walt.

Sadly, I know. When I was in like 3rd grade I sent in a concept drawing (yeah, I know) for a knew park at WDW. Even though my return letter was from a lawyer I was excited to have recieved one from "The Walt Disney Company". :)
