It’s not too late to update the planned Poly tower. It will cost Disney some money, but look at the tacos and Stargate - they appear to be ready to get rid of it because it’s an eyesore that ruined the world showcase vibe.

I. The exterior can be modified to take on more aspects of the Aulani look without starting over- especially ground level and the roofline.
2. The interior plan is not known- but ensuring a coherent upscale vibe is still possible.
3. Adding the Spirit of Aloha to their onsite offerings would seem to be the cherry on top - Disney may be considering that for all we know. Doesn’t even need to be dedicated space - the restaurant could do the luau a few times a week and a regular restaurant the rest of the week.

I am hoping the leadership team is not beyond hope, and would consider not creating a glaring eyesore on their most cherished hotel site that will last generations.

Disney's primary goal is to quickly create a new DVC within a DVC with wildly inflated point costs. They know it's going to sell quickly and they know they'll get away it, so why should they put in any extra development costs.

Beyond basic generic architectural styling (no more different than you'd see at a Hawaiian Embassy Suites) there is no motivation or reason to honor the creativity and uniqueness of the rest of the resort.

But this is the direction they have going for property wide when it comes to lodging ever since BLT, The Riviera and the canceled Reflections: A Generic Disney Disney Resort were publicly revealed.

Agreed- I am trying to give them a reason to aim higher. I am not optimistic. Is there anyone even left from the Jambo House and Aulani eras? For gods sake- the cost differential between doing it right vs. this soulless crap isn’t even that much in terms of time or money.
