Legoland?

Legoland is being built on the old Cypress Gardens site and is set to open in 2011 - has anyone heard anything about a tie in with the Lego store at Downtown Disney or heard any rumors about that store closing once Legoland opens?

I have not heard anything as of yet but as long as the Lego store at DTD is still making money I can't see any reason why they would close it.

Cool. I was thinking maybe they would forge some sort of a partnership of sorts, since Disney and Lego have such a connection these days, where you get can one day admission to Legoland as an add on? I wonder what travel time is between the parks?

It is roughly 45 minutes to an hour between parks.

Well, there is a LEGOLAND is Carlsbad, California, which is just a short drive away from the Disneyland Resort, which has a LEGO store.

I really don't see them doing that. They have fought for years to keep all guests on property as much as possible. I really don't think they would try to get rid of anyone for a day. Even with a kickback, there is just too much potential money loss.

Which is exactly why I think Disney and the Lego store may part ways. I could be wrong but we will know by this time next year. Disney sells a lot of Lego product everywhere so Lego has some leverage and it will be very interesting to see how this works itself out.
