Leaving in 2 days...anyone know the weather?

HI All ~~

Getting packed up and ready for our trip down to WDW (leaving 12/8) and I've been watching the weather segments for across the country. In Chicago they are forecasting weather in Florida to be in the low 60s as a high with rain on Monday and Tuesday (12/9 and 12/10). Earlier in the week, I heard that it was going to be in the high 70s on Monday and Tuesday and now I'm confused!

Now when we're down there in July, my parents usually watch to see what kind of weather we're having and the weather guys up here don't know nothing and always get it wrong.

Anyone down in Florida that could help me out with this one? Is the low 60s a pretty accurate forecast with rain on Monday and Tuesday?

Thanks for any help anyone can give me! =):brick: :D

Looks like lows in the 50's and highs in the 60's.

I tend to be cold blooded, and with a forecast like that, I wouldn't bother packing shorts. Definitely jeans and sweatshirts. I would probably end up wearing the winter coat that I had with me when I left KC. (the lockers in the parks are wonderful places to stow unwanted coats during the day, then retreive them at night)

I would also tuck a pair of gloves into your suitcase--those $1 stretchy ones from Wal-mart. They may come in handy while you're watching a parade or fireworks at night.

Hi Cheryl,

I second Yellow Shoes' suggestion about using the lockers for jackets. We go usually go down in December and that is our M.O. exactly. We leave the hotel in the morning with all the clothing we need for day and night, and put what we don't want to wear in the locker. This saves a trip back to the resort in the evening for a clothing change. Once the sun goes down, we have our jackets and stuff with us already.

50s and 60s sounds warm compared to the 20s we have in Chicago, but when you are out in 50 degree weather for hours on end, it gets cold. Especially at night.

Also, bring all your Northerner cold weather gear down with you. Having our down coats, gloves and hats saved our a** the year it was 40 degrees during the day. The parks sold out of hats gloves and sweatshirts. I remember people buying socks to put on their kid's hands cause the shops were out of gloves. So, even if you end up leaving your cold weather gear in the room, it is always good to have jsut in case.

Hope you have a GREAT trip!!

My husband and I have vacationed to WDW from California the past 5 years (we'll be there this year Dec. 10 - 19). The first few years I remember it being pretty cold - cold enough not to break out the shorts.... The last 2 years it was down right hot!!! In fact we had to buy shorts in Orlando because we were not prepared for the heat. :veryconfu My advice is to bring clothing for both hot and cold weather. The days are pretty warm, and it cools off quite a bit at night. Have a great time:)

Thanks everyone!!:animwink:

Believe me, anything but 30 and snow sounds better than what we're having in the Chicago area this weekend! I guess I shouldn't complain that it's only 50/60s down in Florida!:D :hammer:

Think we'll be safe and bring at least one pair of shorts and a couple t-shirts and lots of jeans and sweatshirts! Thanks for the advice!:D :)

Hi Cheryl ...

Have a wonderful trip!! We just returned on Monday - flew into Midway and had the wonderful blowing snow and limited visibility to welcome us.

I would still pack a bathing suit though - I forgot mine and though it was only in the 60s, the pools are heated and everyone else (kids included) had a ball swimming!
