Leave A Legacy thoughts

I've always thought the Leave A Legacy project at Epcot was a terrible idea but if it were up to you what would you have done differently IF YOU HAD to do a silly project like this? The bricks outside Magic Kingdom are fine especially since it's outside the park, not inside like at Epcot.

Being that Epcot is a place of technology I would have put Leave A Legacy at the after show area of Spaceship Earth with computer kiosk's there so you can bring up your photo with some interesting facts about yourself or the world on that day.

hmmm well me and my husband are on there ... It was free with one of our trips :) I think its neat ... but at the same time ... I can never find myself ... :P

I like LaL and I like where it is. Sure they could have done some things differently but you can say that for just about anything. However, I would not be upset if they changed the entrance to Epcot back to the way it was prior to LaL - provided that they find a spot for the existing plaques.

I like LAL.. I found myslef last weekend (unfortunately it got mine done with an ex). My Tile faces SSE so even when I am not there I am looking at SSE

Although you are entitled to your own opinion, Just because you think it's silly does not make it so. I happen to like it. Not to mention that my son & I have our picture there (Check my Avatar). I liked even before my pic was there. Check out the SSE / Wand 8/21 update under the News & Rumors. There you will see some GREAT night shots of SSE & LAL lit up. This is just one of the reasons I like it.

While I think it was a neat idea, I really think that it could have been designed better because the first time I saw it, my reaction was it looked like a graveyard and I triped on one of the edges of the stone which annoyed me. I can't say what design would have looked better, but I'm sure that there is something that would have.

As far as I am concerned, there is nothing futuristic looking about it, granite has been around for ages. I think the whole thing was not well thought out.

I always liked the idea and kept wanting to do it but I kept saying next time and now I can't... I was wondering if anybody famous ever did it ? Anyone ever hear anything on that subject ?

I thought it looked awful and destroyed the entrance to the park, but oddly now that the wand is gone it doesn't look so bad anymore. It actually complements SSE a bit better now that its symetrical again. As long as they just remove the awful decals from SSE's legs.

I've always HATED the LaL, it's utterly ugly and ruins the front of the Epcot entrance. I have gorgeous pictures of the Epcot entrance before that monstrocity was put there. If your going to put something that ugly up there at least find a nicer place. I think they could have thought of a much better place to put it. The idea of it is fine it's just they didn't use their heads at all when they put it there. I know people hated the wand on SSE but I hate this worse! At least with the bricks in front of Magic Kingdom it doesn't block any of the views when you enter. You have to actually look down in order to see it. Why couldn't they have put their heads together and find a nicer place to put the graveyard?

If you do a search by the time the wand was announce to be taken down this was also discuss. With some great ideas what they can do with the LaL.

I don't necessarily like the look of them that much, although I don't hate it like many seem to. I think the idea is quite neat though, and they are fun to look at sometimes.
Oddly enough, looking at them on my last trip, my boyfriend and I found one that said Shawn & Steph (our names) and a date which happened to have been a date we were there too! It was so funny that we happned to come across it randomly of allllll the ones there. Saved us buying one too!

While I enjoy how Epcot looked without the stones, I don't entirely mind it with them. At least they are symmetric to the structure of SSE. Granted, I won't mind if they move them elsewhere, but if they stay...whatever.

Come to think about it, it is time for me to make him feel bad about it again!

"I wonder if it will rain today?"

"Boy, I hope those birds stay away."

"How many pictures am I in?"

"I wonder how many people dislike me?"

I think they were a waste, when I was at Disney this past weekend we looked at a couple of them up close and it looked like the pictures were wearing away with the elements! Waste!

I agree. If Disney simply landscaped LaL, I wouldn't mind it so much. But as a designer, I can't help but notice the enormous design flaws in Lal, such as the way the plates don't follow the overall forms of the monoliths.
