Laundry question

We will be staying in a 1 bedroom unit for the first time. I know you get dish detergent for the kitchen area--do you also get laundry detergent in the room, or do I supply my own?

They do supply washing detergent, but it's really only enough for one or two loads, so depending on how many loads you plan to do. I believe they may sell some in the shops also at least at the BCV they do.

Take it from home.

We took laundry detergent from home. We also took some food to keep us for a couple of days. I rented a car at Swan or Dolphin for a day trip to Universal After we hit a super market on the way back. It was great the bellmen at Boardwalk came over unloaded the car and took it to our room. I filled the tank, returned the car and walked back to Boardwalk. We tipped the bellmen but after the whole day at Universal it was well worth it.

We purchased a box at OKW was measured for 3 loads. Also with some of the refurbs might call ahead and ask if its a standard washer or requires the "HE" detergent.
We also found out this year not to take liquid detergent in the aircraft anymore, It burst in our checked bag. Don't know if it was handling, pressure or what. We have used the same bottle for 4 previous trips with Southwest with no issues, flew the 1st time with Northwest and the bottle busted. So trip started with a load of clean laundry

We went this past september. I was able to find 1 load liquid packages of tide in the travel section of Walmart before I left. I packed them in my suitcase they are nice and small so they took up very little room an they worked out nicely for us. I think they were about .97 per package.

Although you can buy cleaning products for your clothes either in the gift shop or in the laundry room itself, some people have allergies to certain ingredients and need to stick to a particular brand.

I purchased the powder form of my preferred detergent at home and packed single load amounts in zip-lock bags. I kept them in the outside zipper compartment of my checked luggage so they could be seen easily by inspectors at the airports.

We do something similar. The trial size section at most stores like Target, Walmart, Meijer, etc. have things like detergent, and fabric softener sheets. We started bringing those because the ones in the hotel stores are a bit too pricey for my blood. Especially when you can compare it to what you could be paying at home for the trial size packages and just bringing them with you.
