Will Cynthia leave? To be honest, it looks as though she will; unless things get turned around. Jay Rasulo clearly has that "we can still make millions while sticking to our principles" attitude; and, as much as I like Cynthia and what she has done for Disneyland, it is, I think, time for her to move on. It does pain me to say it, because she has greatly improved Disneyland, and it is obvious that she "gets it" when it comes to good show.
But with a place such as Disneyland, which is so unique to begin with, we really need somebody like Jay Rasulo; someone who fully understands the entire picture, not part of it (Like Cynthia) or, God forbid, none of it (Like Pressler).
After the Happiest Place on Earth is back to its original glory, WDW desperately needs Jay to pay them a visit, too; they're in deeper water than we are :)

Jay rocks! He genuinely wants to fix the parks, and knows how to do it correctly, which will make more money for the company--he has it all right. He is a clear improvement over Paul Pressler, and I will welcome someone with his ideals as President of the Disneyland Resort. GO JAY!:sohappy: :sohappy:

The prob lem with Pressler is that he saw things only in the short term.
Allow Main Street to grow dimmer as each bulb burns out = short term profit.
Refuse to replace lamp posts on Big Thunder trail (So someone could easily injure themselves) = short term profit.
Allow attraction buildings and shop facades to decay = short term profit.
Permit repairmen to fix attractions in broad daylight (Which I actually witnessed in Fantasyland in 1996) = short term profit.
All of these things will save money in the short term, but they'll kill ya down the road. Like if the major were to suddenly switch off streetlamps at night; sure, it would save money. Sure, people would still spend tons of cash on clubs, late night movies and fast food.
But, eventually, people "are" gonna complain. And Your rep is gonna see a steep slide downhill. And All of us smarter people will be laughin and sayin "We told you so."
When it came to this, Walt Disney wasn't anything special. He just knew what people liked, and how to keep them happy.
I got a kick out of how, after DCA opened, somebody on the laughingplace.com forum boasted about seeing Pressler in the park & how they wanted to tell him what a beautiful place he built.
LOL Like he actually cared.

I'm beginning to think Jay was the perfect choice for the job. If he is doing what Al Lutz says, he really seems to care about the Disney image and quality and wants to do what it takes to fix the apparent problems Disneyland has faced with the aftermath of the "Pressler reign".

He seems to realize the enormous moment Disneyland's 50th anniversary is. It isn't too late to turn out something big for DL. I'm just glad he was given this opportunity when he did and not later. :)
