Late May Crowds?

Hi everyone. Me and my brother were thinking about taking a trip to the World on May 26th-May 30th. The airfare and spg points at the Dolphin are calling our names but a problem I am finding is that the crowds might be pretty bad that week. On the various crowd calendars easily findable they mostly agreed that these dates will be pretty bad especially at MK and HS, especially because there is a Star Wars Weekend on that 26th. So I guess I'd like to know if anyone has a better idea of this as I have never been there at this time. Thanks in advance :)

Touring plans gives those dates between a 5-8 out of 10, so moderate to high would be expected. You have Memorial Day going on as well, so that will heighten crowds. Ultimately it's a better week to go than later in the summer. I've gone in early & mid-May and found the crowds to be very manageable, if that's an option for you.

Yeah I do not think we will be deterred by the idea of a larger crowd, as we have gone during Christmas, as well as in June on our previous visits so I do not think this would be much worse. Thanks for your input.

If you can go earlier you would be better off. As some have mentioned the memorial day weekend is a problem, but you also have some senior trips that happen in the later part of May. We've done it before and it isn't going to be horrible, but it wont be light any stretch of the imagination.

We are also going the last week of May and will also be over at the Swan and Dolphin resort. We usually go the first week of May and it's usually pretty calm. It doesn't seem like there are many weeks except for early September that are very slow anymore and with free dining during the "slow" times it's drawing more people in. Hopefully the crowds won't be too bad!

Thanks for your reply and I truly don't believe they will be too bad. Like previously stated I have been during Christmas week which is surely the worst time of the year there. Have a great vacation I just got back from a trip with my mom that my brother couldn't make, and now I am being "forced" into going again;)

Last week of May is usually a decent crowd level. People will be there but not crazy. Star Wars weekends brings heavy crowds to DHS on those days - if you're not a SW fan then the other parks will be much slower on those days.

Use early mornings and late nights (EMH) and you'll have no problem doing everything you need to two or more times.

We were there this year from May 22-30 and it honestly wasn't that bad. The worst was DHS during the weekend, avoid that park unless you're a Star Wars fan. Just make sure to get to the parks early, as the day goes on, the wait times increase for the major rides. I noticed some of them were well over the hour mark later in the day, and I think at one point TSMM had a 2 hr wait (not sure how accurate that timer was though).

The closer you get to Memorial Day the larger the crowds will be as must southern schools school year is over by then and summer vactions start. We have been to the World several times in mid May and found both the weather and crowds to be GREAT!

Hello can I ask if you remember how large the crowds were specifically on the 28th, which was Memorial Day, as well as the other final days of your trip? Thank you very much.

I believe we were in epcot that day. It really wasn't bad, other than Soarin. The only park I remember being overrun was DHS on the weekend, and that was it.

Yeah Soarin and TSMM are always outrageous. Need a fast pass before 9:30/10 or you can wait in the always at least 6o minute wait.
