Late Check in at AoA

Hi guys! I'm from Brazil and i'm going to WDW, for the first time, from january 31 - 11 february 2014, but i'm only staying at AoA for 6 days! (And no, i'm not going with the annoying brazilian tour groups!) I will be arriving in Orlando at 9pm, so my question is: Should i do the online check in or do the normal check in when i get there? I'm afraid to wait to long for a room or something like that.
Another thing is that i'm thinking in going to walmart after i arrive, at the same day, to buy some snacks for the parks... Do you guys know where is the closest 24h walmart? And if that's a good ideia? (I'm not renting a car, so i will depend on a cab...)
What do you guys think?

Thankyou! (And sorry if i wrote something wrong! I'm not really good writing in english...=P)

...welcome.

...Not sure about the check-in question, but the nearest Walmart is in Kissimmee at 3250 Vineland Rd. ...it's about 5.0 miles from AoA

Do the online check in, if you have your bands just go right to your room, if you don't have the bands they will have everything all ready prepared for you to just pick up. If you're arriving at 9pm, you won't get to the resort until 9:30-10pm so if it was me, I would do the online.

Welcome :) Due to some unforeseen circumstances with our last trip, we didn't arrive at our resort for check in until about 10:30pm. Even with online check in (which I did) and magic bands (which we had), it still took a while at the front desk to get everything situated. It was just before 11pm once we got into the room. I still would do it again though since I believe it aided in us getting our room requests granted.

There should be a spot where you can let them know it will be a late arrival. AT the hotel I work at when we get reservations on line there are sometimes notations that people would like late arrival or just the opposite late checkout!

You still need to check in at the front desk, your room is assigned then - and that's how you know what room you are in.

We have checked into a few of the Disney resorts late at night and the check in was pretty fast, we never do online check in. Later at night there doesn't seem to be a lot of people checking in. There are snacks for sale at the gift shop/food court areas. If I were you I would bring a few snacks from home. We always bring a box of crackers, or some potato chips, a bag of M&M's candy, and some granola bars for quick breakfast. We don't bring a whole lot of snacks, just some light stuff so it doesn't take up a lot of room in our suitcase. It is cheaper than buying at Disney.

Is there a specific reason you are taking a taxi instead of using Disney's Magical Express? Just wondering since you aren't renting a car. The Magical Express will save you some money too, since it is included with your stay at AOA.

Thanks for the tips, but i can't bring any snacks ^^ I will be coming from Brazil and they don't allow people bring food to US. I wanted to go to wallmart because of that, the snacks prices there are better then at Disney!
And i will not use the taxi to go to the hotel, it's actually to go to wallmart after i arrive the AoA :D I just wanted to know if it's better to do that or buy snacks at the hotel just for the 1st day. I will arrive really late and i dont know if it's safe to get a taxi at night or anything like that! (First time going to US ^^ Dont know how are the things around there!)

I applaud you for saying your not with the brazillian tour groups :cat:

Snacks at the foot court and gift shop are expensive but if you factor in the price of the cab ride - it may be cheaper just to buy on property. Another suggestions would be to go to the crossroads or one of the gas stations on property. But I am always about convenience - so a cab may be best

You might want to check out this link about food. You should be able to bring some processed foods with you. I have been able to bring processed snacks with me when traveling out of the United States to Mexico and Jamaica and I brought candies and snack back from those countries. Hope this helps and have fun.

I though that they didint let any kind of food on airpline! Thanks! But i have another idea...And if i buy the snacks at wallmart and send it to the resort? I saw that in another forum!
My only question is how to send it now... Because at the websites, they just ask the Name, last name, address 1, address 2 and city, state and postal code... I saw that you should put the reservation and "GUEST", but...where do i put that? =/
