Late August

I live in Virginia and we have a weird state law that doesn't allow public schools to start until after Labor Day. I'm thinking of taking advantage of this by visiting WDW during the week prior to Labor day while most of the nation's kids are already back in school, but mine are still out.
Last year we went to Hershey Park during this time and the lines were unbelievably short. Can anybody share their WDW experience during the last week of August?

It's better than early August, but still a lot busier than the week after Labor Day. From 2005-2012 free dining was usually in effect at the end of August, but in 2013 it started in early September. Depending on if and when it starts this year that could make a difference in crowds.

I have gone several times during the last 2 weeks in August and it is very crowded and Hot Hot Hot and Humid Humid Humid..... but it is no hotter than it is during the rest of the summer and September. The thinner crowds in September after Labor Day make the heat a bit a bit more bearable. Enjoy your trip whenever you decide to visit. :cat:

We have went this time of year several times and loved it! The crowds were so manageable. It's the heat that its a tad crazy but plan mid day breaks and you'll be fine.

Many schools don't start until after labor day, so I wouldn't use that as a factor in hoping for low crowds. But late August will be hot, and you may run into some showers, but it is a decent time to go.

I'll be there. Canadian schools all start the Tuesday after Labour day, so we've been doing exactly as you suggest for a few years now. It is very hot as has been mentioned. Crowds are OK, but still there.

My son and I dog it through, no pool breaks and we've been fine.

We went that last week in august a few years ago and don't remember large crowds at all. Like everyone else is saying, it was HOT and HUMID and had rain showers each day we were there. All in all I think its a good time to visit.
