Late Arrival and Transferring Resorts

We were originally booked for the Poly in Sept 2009. However I was able to get a great price on a flight for us one day earlier. So, we are now booked at Pop for one night and then going to transfer to the Poly for the rest of the trip. We don’t arrive at MCO until 11:45 pm. Has anyone ever checked in this late, any issues? (It will be after midnight once we get our luggage and the ME gets us to Pop.) Any issues/suggestions for transferring resorts?

What is Disney's Magical Express Service?

Complimentary motor coach transportation and luggage transfer services from Orlando International Airport and select Walt Disney World Resort hotels, regardless of the airline you fly.

Travel time is approximately 45 to 75 minutes. Motor coaches may make multiple stops before arriving at your Disney Resort hotel.

Luggage delivery service is available for flights arriving between 5:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. daily. For airport arrivals after 10:00 p.m., Guests must collect their luggage at Baggage Claim and transport it with them on the motor coach.

Reserve the service when you make your Disney Resort reservation prior to arrival at Orlando International Airport.

Reservations: (407) WDW-MAGIC or (407) 939-6244. Guests under age 18 must have parent or guardian permission to call.

(Please note: The service does not provide luggage-only transfer.)

We've checked in late once staying a ASMu. Had no problems other than it took FOREVER! There were tons of people checking in that late. We got there just before midnight and hadn't eaten supper yet, so while dh was checking in, I went over to the food court and ordered a few pizzas for our group so at least we'd have something since everything would be closed by midnight. But, you shouldn't have any problems checking in other than the wait. You could also do the online check in to speed things up.

When you check in, let them know you'll be switching resorts in the morning. You can arrange for bell service to transfer your luggage for you from Pop to the Poly without any problems. After you check into Poly, let them know you had your bags transfered and if they are already there, just call when you get to your room and they will deliver them for you. You shouldn't have any problems. Have fun!

The question you asked was how to trasfer between resorts.

Disney bell staff will trasfer your luggage for you, no problem.

What I would do, since you don't have a car with you, is take the first bus that comes and go to the park. Then hop on the returning bus for the Poly. Or go to the MK and take the monorail over.

You can check in at the Poly early in the morning, then go to the parks and return in the afternoon to get your actual room.

We arrived later in the evening once, and there is no difficulty in checking in. The desks seem to always be staffed.

ME doesn't run that late. I think they stop at 10:00 PM:(
Sorry
INCORRECT.

DME is a 24 hour a day operation. Between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. they don't do the automatic baggage delivery (you have to get your own bags at baggage claim), but the buses run 24 hours a day in both directions.
