We usually book months out. But my husband is a musician and we are doing a music festival in Miami for the weekend of 2/15. We decided to do a few days in Disney afterwards. 2/17-2/20or21. We normally use DVC Rental, but they said every single room is booked. Now Im at a loss for what to do. Ive gotten spoiled by being able to get the great deals on those rooms. We are an adult couple, so in the past we disliked Pop and AoA because the walls were so thin and the air conditioning sucked. We are debating staying at the Best Western or B Resort in Disney Springs. Does anyone have any other ideas? Or any reviews of those two? Is it difficult to link everything since its not quite a disney property? Thanks in advance!

You picked a great time to do a spur of the moment trip. One reason you are finding a lack of room availability is that week is the start of the Princess Half Marathon weekend - races are Friday 22nd through Sunday 24th. Most runners will be arriving either Wednesday or Thursday. Plus you've got a 3 day holiday weekend (President's Day on the 18th) for many. If you want to stay on property, I'd suggest Port Orleans - either Riverside or French Quarter. I've stayed at POR and it is a wonderful resort.

Good luck.

I agree with LAKid53 - try for Port Orleans - both Riverside and French Quarter are beautiful resorts! Since you're only there for a few days, I highly suggest staying on property so you can spend as much time as possible in Disney. Plus since there is so much going on in the parks you'll be able to head back to the resort for some downtime without waiting for off property shuttles. I'd suggest seeing what is available in the Disney resorts before you head off-property. Good luck!

OP, if you're considering staying off property, also look at the 2 hotels on Western Way near the West gate at Flamingo Crossing. Both are Marriott hotels and include free parking and breakfast - hotels are Springwood Suites and TownPlace Suites. Rates are reasonable and rooms have coffee maker, small fridge and microwave.

I scheduled a last minute trip for MLK weekend and used Trivago. I found great rooms at Marriott resorts in Flamingo Crossings (right outside western entrance). But then again, a great location for me coming from Tallahassee. Couldn't make use of EMH, though. DS might be a better location for you with quicker access to the FL Turnpike. Any of the DS on property resorts give you access to EMH if that is important to you.

Also, your FP choices will be limited. I'd do rope drop if I were you to get SDD in HS and FOP in AK, for example. With parks opening at 9am on non-EMH mornings, it shouldn't be too hard to arrive before park opening.
