Saturday April 24 is the last day you can ride Dinosaur in its current configuration. It will be another 6 weeks (hopefully) and then it will be ready to visit prehistoric times again.

The're replacing the dinosaurs with four-foot stitch anamatronics. :lookaroun

Unless there is something new that I don't know (which could easily be the case), the ride is NOT changing. The queue and the fastpass lines are rumored to be re-routed/changed around a bit to make them more usable, but I think the actual ride is just receiving your average rehab.

Its a shame one of my favorite attractions won't be open when I visit in 3 weeks. But at least I know about it ahead of time.

Today's my Bday! April 24th. Happy Birthday me! :D

Countdown to Extinction er.. Dinosaur is one of the best themed rides at Disney, in fact it was better before the expanded Chester and Hester’s area, I hope they don’t change the pre-show too much.

I think it is just a normal rehab. I wish they would change the name back to Countdown to Extintion, The movie dinosaur really has nothing to do with the ride. anyways, as far as i know it is just a normal rahab. with some que line re-routeing.

Six weeks is just enough time to do a regualr rehab. No majors changes are going to occur in six weeks. It will be open just in time for my arrival june 13 :)

I doubt this is true. Several disney attractions have lost their effects and Disney has never done anything to try and fix them. Test Track's crashing effect is no more. Tower of Terror's eye ball effect left us in 1999 never to return, and Dinosaurs Ceradactylus will probably still be stationary with a light like always. I wish these rehabs consisted of more than just paint but they rarely do. They are probably going to look at ways of making it, "safer," aka... less fun. And does a ride really need to go down for 6 weeks to reroute the queue line? That is getting a little ridiculous. Although I wouldn't put it past Disney after they closed the Great Movie Ride down for 6 months for a fresh coat of paint. sigh.

Anyways back on topic. I really got my hopes up when I read the title. I thought maybe we'd see the name change back to Countdown to Extinction and maybe they would bump the intensity back up so it could be a "real" thrill ride again. But alas it's just not to be. :)

I hope they reroute the queue lines, I never thought that area quite 'flowed' as I'm sure most will agree, quite a confusing area for knowing exactly where you need to go.

Hmmm... I hope they add in steering wheels so you can steer like you used to in Indy in DL... okay, I'm wishing for too much now. LOL.
