Labor Day

So I hear tell that September is pretty low attendance at WDW, thus the Free Dining offer. My wife and I have moved the family trip from November (Thanksgiving Week) to September 5-13, partly out of necessity and partly to take advantage of free dining. So my question is, how crowded is Labor Day? It falls on the 7th this year.

That weekend can get pretty crazy.....:D

It's not the Fourth of July but it is the last big summer weekend before the kids head back to school so it can get pretty busy. Of course, the weeks after Labor Day are not as slow as they used to be either. Plan on crowds and then the rest of your trip will be cake.

Labor Day is less crowded than any other holiday. And then you'll still be there the 8th-13th with very low crowds, sometimes walking right onto major attractions with no wait. It's a terrific time of year to go to WDW.

I was thinking of booking a short trip that week myself; partly because of the free dining promotion, and partly because my birthday falls on the 10th. Seriously considering planning a solo trip as a present to myself.

We just switched too and will be there Labor Day weekend too. We were there in August last summer and I assume that even with the holiday it will still be less crowded than what we saw last summer.

It's not too bad - better than any other holiday for sure, that I agree with. I've always enjoyed going that week. I'm not sure if the 4/3 night deal extended that far, but if so it'll be more crowded than normal. At least that's been the case so far this year. Prepare for heat though - it will most likely be scorching hot.

Scorching heat I can handle. Scorching heat + massive crowds, I cannot. The one time I went to WDW in July, it was humid, hot and packed. Waiting in lines for a hour and a half with the sun baking the flesh off my face and head was not fun. However, in another way, I kind of like WDW when it's hot, because I appreciate going inside the buildings more. So hot but not crowded sounds perfect.
