Kouzzina Vibe

I know this is going to sound like World Showcase blasphemy, but I'm really not up for any of the Epcot restaurants for our Epcot day. Still, I love that vibe of dining in the World Showcase. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it just has this "I'm eating at Epcot" feeling by dining in there. Instead, I was thinking Kouzzina since I still haven't made it in there, it's convenient to Epcot, and the menu's Meditteranean flair feels like it could give us some of that WS vibe. Any thoughts?

Their slow cooked lamb sounds like " Kleftiko " a national dish in Crete ( Kreta ) Ask the server and if she knows what your saying'if yes,go for it.It should be lamb on the bone, cooked in a clay oven in tin foil ( keeps the juices in ) with bay leaves & garlic. The meat should fall off the bone with your fork ( knife not req ) Yiamas !;)

I've been there a few times for breakfast and dinner and its delicious. For breakfast I suggest the stacked breakfast or the house-cured salmon. For dinner I've had the lamb shank, short ribs and rib eye. They were all excellent. Oh and for appetizer there is a Greek cheese that is fried- I can just taste it now.

I kind of regret not trying it for breakfast back in November. We were so close, but unless I go nuts between now and then- I see dinner in our future. I saw that appetizer on the menu and was like "it's calling to me!" :D

Think that cheese could be Saganaki . Had it once on the island of Zante. It was Prawn Saganaki flamed in Metaxa brandy.Phew.

We love it there! DDP hasn't destroyed it yet and they have a fantastic flavorful menu! Ate there 4 x on a 6 day trip (2 breakfasts 2 dinners). Waitstaff is friendly, great services and yummy food. Hidden gem IMHO.

I have always wanted to try Kouzzina, however, we aren't fans of lamb, so never went. I was actually considering ESPN Club for early dinner, then head back to see Illuminations

Funny b/c I'm not a huge fan of lamb, but for whatever reason- I'm good with it in Greek cooking. It may be something in the prep and seasoning (b/c if you asked my mom, she'd tell you I chose to starve on lamb chop nights:oops: ). And as @danpam1024 noted, there are ton of other options on the menu...

It may not be fancy (at least the ways I've had it), but I've always loved Pastitsio. I also think I could make a full meal out of a few of the appetizers.

I think I may be turning a corner on lamb though...2/3 of the meat in my shepherd's pie the other night was lamb and I loved it. Now if only I could have the same transformation with cooked salmon.

We enjoyed it. It was our favorite last trip. The kouzzina trio my daughter had was amazing (pasticio, lamb burger, cinnamon stewed chicken). I had the cinnamon stewed chicken which was wonderful. The restaurant look is very nice. Comfortable yet casual but still elegant.

Awesome! Since I think I may have the cake I'm getting for my mom delivered to this meal (yes, cake & baklava :D) and casual elegance would definitely enhance that. Also great to hear about the yummy food. Thank you! :)

I love Kouzzina, especially for breakfast, but for dinner too. If I could describe the vibe in one word, it would be "celebratory." It's bustling, happy, and loud in there. The ouzo is flowing and the food is good. If it were a little smaller and not so open (and had more consistent service), it could pass for a signature restaurant.

There is a semi-quiet section shaped almost like a hallway, just past the olive oils display. You can ask to sit there if you want a more intimate experience or sit in the big room.

Sounds like this is going to be a really great choice for us. Thanks!!!

I will have to keep this in mind. We will likely be a party of 9, so it may also boil down to where they can fit us. Thanks!!!

I have as well...especially the crab cake. I'd also love the Idaho potato wrapped snapper. I'd probably be inclined to try it if my parents weren't coming along. Long story short- dad's fave hobby is saltwater fishing, so there's a lot of seafood pickiness.
