Kona Cafe: Opinions

I've eaten breakfast and dinner there. Breakfast, probably the best sit-down. The atmosphere is that of a "hotel restaurant". It has a feel of a lobby to it. Service was excellent. Food quality excellent. As for dinner, the atmosphere the same. There were a few steaks on the menu when I was there. They were all USDA Choice, wet aged quality but well prepared. Sides and sauces were inventive and themed appropriately for an Asian-Pacific theme. I would say that no matter what you ordered there was a little sweet on the plate. Seems to be part of that theme.

What is your opinions on the Kona Cafe. What is the atmosphere like? What is the food quality? I am thinking about going there for breakfast one morning of my stay.
LOVE Kona for breakfast, not a fan of dinner, however. We usually get the tonga toast, the big kahuna and the ham and cheese omelette, then share each entree. Outstanding meal, one of our all time favs

We loved our meal, big kahuna and tonga toast..unfortunately our server appeared to forget about us as everyone around us who was seated after received their food around the same time we ordered, may have been an off day. But the macadamian nut pancakes were so good! And my other half loved the tonga toast .

Kona is great for whatever meal you're having. Atmosphere of the restaurant itself isn't much to scream about. It's mostly just an open-air section of the second floor lobby. That being said...the lobby of Poly is quite nice :) You can't go wrong really.

It's OK. I don't like the atmosphere. Too open and there are tables that I would refuse. I don't like the tables right on the lobby.

Favorite breakfast out family has ever had anytime anywhere bar none (and we are world travelers). You can't go wrong with Tonga Toast or pineapple macadamia nut pancakes served with 100% pressed kona coffee and a wasabi bloody mary. You will find more elegant or romantic places but you won't find yummier breakfast food!

Agree with the majority here. Kona Cafe is great. We went there for both breakfast and lunch (on different days) and both were great! There is a juice that you get there...can't remember the name of it, but it is delicious. No, the atmosphere isn't much to write home about, it kind of feels like a cafeteria atmosphere...very open. I highly recommend!

I know Im in the minority here, but we have been there twice and left unsatisfied both times. Most recent lunch was in November on last year. Just too many things to explain here as to why it was bad, but there are so many other places we would rather eat then there. This is one plave i will have a very hard time ever going to again and I never say that about anywhere in Disney. Ive had less then Disney experiences at other restaurants, but have gone back and benn wowed! Just not here. November was worse then our first time. Sorry

I don't like Tonga Toast or coffee, please please please don't flame! Anyway I love Kona Cafe, those pancakes are just perfect as well as the potatoes and everything else I've ever had there. My husband always has to go to have "real" coffee and we share a couple of platters and everyone is happy. Just be aware I think the servings are on the large enough side to share with little kids.

Wow, I am so sad for you... I must admit we are picky people so when some place pleases us all it's rare, it's just sad Kona couldn't hook you up. We love 'Ohana breakfast just as much but it's so much more expensive we've gone to Kona to save money and been please, so sorry you haven't!
