2010 - New Coaster - Under Construction - (8/8/09) According to KD Fansite, they just got their invite to the media announcement for the new coaster in the mail and it was shaped like a car. Sounds like Carowinds isn’t the only park getting a race car themed ride. No real details on it, it just said Biggest, Baddest, Meanest and that it was the biggest investment yet. The only odd thing is that the car had the #15 on it, which at first I was thinking meant it was the park’s 15th coaster, and that would have been right if they had kept Hypersonic, but this is only the park’s 14th coaster now. (Unless they did something lame and counted Rebel Yell twice but we know Cedar Fair didn’t try that kind of crap with Carowinds and Thunder Road). KD Fansite has also posted a new photo update from the park showing off the latest construction and track pieces.
