I am sure I am not the only one who has heard this rumor... but the Quarterman from EGM (as well as others) has anounced that there is a rumor about Disney and Squaresoft making a movie based on the PS2 game Kingdom Hearts. Does anybody know anything about this?
If this movie is made, how would you like to see it made?
There are four options that I can think of off the top of my head, and I am sure there are others you can think of too, so let's discuss..
First option.... have it done by the feature animation department known for most of the recent classics Tarzan, Treasure Planet, ect...
Second Option.... have it created by the Television Animation Department... Meaning smaller budget, but still decently animated movies, your direct to video releases, as well as Return to Neverland and Jungle Book 2
The third option would be to have the movie computer animated. Many characters have already been rendered for the new Philar-magic show and could be transfered to a new computer anamated world where the Square characters would seemlessly be in their natural state.
And the fourth option I can think of, which in my opinion could be the greatest (if done correctly) or worst (if rushed) option. And that would be to combine live action with the animation. There have been incredible improvements in technology since WFRR that could really do a Kingdom Hearts movie justice.
