is it possible to get a king bed at all star sports? If so how do I go about this? Touring plans shows king beds only for the preferred rooms otherwise I would submit a fax through touringplans

Thanks

Pretty sure the king rooms are the handicapped accessible ones. So you can request one by calling Disney and having the request put on your reservation, but priority will be given to anyone who needs a handicapped room. With all of the people with scooters that say they need an accessible room, I don't think you chances are very good at getting one. Good Luck.

As @jaklgreen pointed out, the king bed rooms at the values are the handicapped accessible so those needing it will get priority over those requesting it.

They also max out at a capacity of 2 so if your party exceeds that number they will not put you in one even if it is available.

My husband and I got a king room in the touchdown (football) section of the sports when we went in November. We did not request it and we were actually disappointed when we walked in and saw it. We might be strange but we like to have separate beds on vacation. But the location was prime and we decided to keep it. It was definitely a handicapped accessible room.

This is not all that uncommon if you are a party of 2 at one of the Values. The wife and I are batting about .500 on king bed rooms at the values when we travel sans kids without requesting them.

The reason they do this is that they would much rather put a party of 2 in a room that has a max occupancy of 2 leaving a room with an occupancy of 4 free for last minute reservations, room transfers, etc.

As a cost saving measure I have a California King mattress squirreled away in an unobtrusive alcove located in Innoventions West. Somewhat centrally located so no matter what resort we're at the hauling process isn't too bad.

I understand the reasoning, but it is uncommon for us at the values. We have always gotten two beds except this visit, but we have never made a bedding request whether it be for a king or two beds. I would rather put my request in for a room close to transport then be picky about beds.:)
