Kind of Scared Right Now

I'm kind of freaked out right now.

Tuesday night I woke up from a nap feeling achey, with a headache, and a sore throat. I finally decided that I just had a bug and by sometime Wednesday I was fine.

Now it's Friday night and my throat feels really weird. It doesn't *hurt* like when you have a sore throat. But it feels like there's something stuck in it like midway down. When I swallow, when it gets to this point, it's like the food or liquid has to squeeze thru and it feels really weird. It's actually right above the point of my neck joining the rest of my body, towards the front, on my right hand side (whatever tube that is you can feel right in the middle of the front of your neck; it's on that). I can't feel anything from the outside, but if I press, it hurts on the inside and only on that side. Maybe something is inflammed/enlarged/infected. I don't know. But I'm scared that I need surgery in my throat or something. Or that I suddenly have cancer.

You may have a really bad sore throat...Or swollen lymph nodes or whatever they are.
I would go see the Dr. and let them tell you.
I would not jump to conclusions that you need surgery or its Cancer.
It is probably really inflamed or something..See a Dr. though to find out and ease your mind.
Let us know.

I'm not a medical professional, but I don't think you'd have grown any sort of cancerous tumor that quickly.

If you're having any problems with breathing you should goto a Dr. immediately (probably the emegency room) but otherwise make an appointment ASAP.

I had the same kind of thing happen to me years ago. It was an abcess on my tonsil. They gave me antibiotics, but unfortunately, after initially reducing the size of it, the abcess started to instead absorb them and get bigger. I ended up in the hospital for three days with severe dehydration, so I definitely say follow everyone else's advice and get it checked out. After three days in the hospital, the abcess was gone and I was fully hydrated. But, if you get it taken care of before reaching the point that I did, you won't have to spend any time in a hospital room.

I agree, make an appointment with your doctor. If it's something like strep throat, you don't want to let that go.

My husband did that this summer. He was stubborn and wouldn't go to the Dr. for a sore throat. He let it go and ended up in the ER with a 104 temp, strep throat and pneumonia.

Just see if you can get a check up with your primary MD. Hope you feel better soon!

I agree with everybody else here... doesn't sound like it's anything you're fearing, but it could get serious if you let it go. Get thee to the doctor!

I agree with everyone else. Go to the doctor. Most likely it is not anything major, but you won't know until you go.
Let us know! We care.
