Kind of a dumb ? about autograph books and pens

I plan on getting my kids new ones. They like to have a new one each trip and since we haven't been there since 2004, I don't mind putting the money into them. I was wondering what brand of pen would work best. I want one that is retractable so we don't loose the cap. Would a retractable sharpie bleed through?

I think the sharpie would bleed through, some of the characters press hard when signing. They have retractable pens you can purchase with your book that are thick and long enough for the characters to hold onto. I saw characters having trouble with regular pens.

Also, we didn't notice until mid week that there are new (atleast new to us) autograph books where you can insert a picture next to the autograph. We'll purchase that one next time.

Yes Sharpie WILL bleed through. You'll need a THICK ballpoint pen.

When buying an autograph book first make sure you put your child's name along with your home address in it just incase it gets lost. In the event it does get lost the good cast members will make sure it gets signed by most of the characters before it gets sent back to you.

I like the new autograph books with the space for pics it makes for nicer memories. I'm kinda leery of ball point pens you never know when they quit on ya. I would go with the new retractable sharpie markers and be sure to get a multi color pack. Also don't worry so much about the markers bleeding through you have to press real hard on the paper or leave it in one spot on the page plus the paper in the books are thick enough to block most bleed through.

When we were there last Christmas, my neice got one of those picture autograph books and used the retractable sharpies for autographs. No bleed thru. And she did have different colors too.

I agree with the thick retractable Sharpies.
My daughter used them on our past two visits and had the older inexpensive autograph books that are available in the value resort gift shops. She's got both books completely full of character autographs without a single bleed-thru.
We'll be back again in just 2 weeks and bought a new thick Sharpie with fine point today.
I too like the idea of the newer books with slots for the photos and plan to get one for her when we arrive.
