I know there is rumour for a Kids Zone expansion and re-theme in the future, but I was thinking. Could Universal get the rights to Hanna Barbera and change the area to have something to do with that?

There are so many great stories and worlds involved with the name, I'd love to see some Flinstones and Jetsons!

WHat are your guys Kids Zone ideas?

When you think of Kids zone the area is trying to relate to "Kids". Kids of today and of tomorrow will not know any of those names you mentioned. If Anything Universal could do a Looney Tunes re-theme with the re-launch and additions they just started showing.

Many people like the idea of a Spongebob re-theme. (Or Nicktoons)
Madagascar re-theme.
Dreamworks re-theme involving many characters and movies.

Spongebob up front (Animal show space turned into spongebob darkride, pizza place turned into Krusty Krab, and the store stays the same. along with new theming all over. In the middle is a heavily refurbished E.T adventure. with a new preshow, facade theming (forest theme with big pines around the show building). Refurbished vehicles, new AA's,ceiling covered, New effects. new ending etc. After that is the dreamworks theme with whatever kid's movies are trending being used for the playground thing. a Shrek little coaster. and barney and curious george space used for a madagascar water ride.

Hanna Barberra had its time in the park. As much as I love their cartoons, aside from Scooby, they're pretty unknown to kids nowadays.

Looney Tunes would be awesome, but they're pretty involved in Six Flags.
Dreamworks is the most likely direction to go...seeing as how they're always making new movies and cartoons...that and Spielberg would totally approve it.

IMO, The Spongebob store next to it could be an indicator of the areas future. Nicktoons would work very well in this area.

Haha:) The kids need something though .

I was thinking the same thing about Kids not really watching cartoons of the old now days but most kids that go to Uni doesn't know who woody wood is but still enjoy the area. I'm not sure about curious george

I love the idea of a Looney Tunes retheme, particularly with the popular show Cartoon Network has. Think it would be a really nice fit.

I really really hate Spongebob but I get that he's really liked by kids (unfortunately), and something themed to The Fairly Oddparents would be really good too. I'd love to see them incorporate Avatar in there (by far the best animated show Nick has produced in years).

Also love the idea of the Madagascar films/ride coming to Universal. Would above all, dearly love to see something from How to Train Your Dragon. It's one of my favorite movies and trust me, I did not go into the theater expecting that. (Picture 5 very bored college seniors with nothing to do late on a Friday night going to the last showing of it because nothing else was airing).

They really could do so much with the area. But at the end of the day, I don't really care what goes in there so long as that big ultra creepy purple dinosaur says sayonara...

I'm thinking Barney is definitely getting the pink slip. He's so far past his time...I don't know how many kids even really know who he even is anymore anyway.

Unsure either but I found him weird even when I was a kid. Just would prefer something much more timeless. There are "kid" things that can appeal to adults too but Barney just isn't one of them.

I think Looney Tunes would be the best option for the area, followed by a Nick theme. Dreamworks on the other hand I can't see Universal going with. They need a Shrek like mega movie to get them into Kidszone.
