kid's scavenger hunt from Floridian

Hi. We are leaving on the 16th and can hardly wait!
We just picked up Birnbaum's WDW guide for kids and saw a listing for a Pirate's Cruise scavenger hunt that leaves from the Grand Floridian for 3-10 year olds (on page 140 if you have the book lying around). I have never heard of this in any other source. Does any one know if this is still going on? Has anyone out there let their child do this? Was it worth the $23? I have an almost 5 year old who loves to do scavenger hunts around the house and we are thinking of registering her, but the price seems rather steep.

My three aged 6,8 and 11yrs went on this in August it left at 10am and returned just after 12, they went on a boat from the Grand to all the hotels on the Lagoon, gettting off and hunting for treasure, they also went to DI. They where given Bandana's and a bag full of treasure (plastic coins, rings, beads etc). they also where given a snack box containning Peanut butter and Jelly sandwiches:hurl: potato chips and a fruit drink. They really enjoyed it their only complaint was the boat was a pontoon boat and not a Pirate ship. The Beast and I enjoyed it even more than them:animwink: Three weeks in a family room is a long long time.
Hope this is useful if you want to know anything else just ask and I'll check it with the kids.

Thanks for the info. I did some searching around on Disney's website and found that there is also a cooking class where the kids decorate aprons and chefs hats, etc. Did your kids happen to do this one as well? I'm not sure which one she would enjoy more.
Also, can you ask your kids if the scavenger hunt was set up in such a way that a kindergartener could participate without feeling like she was always a step (or two, or three) behind the older kids? I think it sounds like she would have fun, but I don't want her to feel like she is being left out by kids twice her age finding all of the clues, etc.

My eldest boy (aged 11 but not that tall, so was allowed to join) says that the leader was very keen to include all the kids, he also encouraged the older kids to help the younger ones. My boy Alex made friends with a little girl who was 4 and gave her all the jewells from his bag, they sang lots of kindergarten type songs but all the kids loved it.

I'm sure she will love it, lots of the kids on the Pirate trip had done or where going to do the cooking class, so she may make some special friends.

We met some children who had been on the cruise two nights later and they all greated one another like long lost friends, so I got the impression its a pretty friendly crew

I tried to book the Pirate Cruise for my daughter, but they are fully booked, but someone may cancel so if you keep trying you might be able to book one. Have a great vacation!!

We hadn't booked for our eldest as they said he was too old, but when we turned up on the day, the host said that although they where full, he could squeeze one more on! try it you might be lucky:)
