Tomorrow is it....the big 2007 WDI ImagiNations Design Contest. Being an ImagiNations alumni (2005) I'm excited to report one of my friends made it to finals this year. He entered last year but only made it to semi-finals. Well this year he nailed it and will be spending 2 awesome weeks in Glendale California at Walt Disney Imagineering. His team is one of 11 that made it to the finals this year, including a team from the UK. He has told me the itinerary and man has the contest only gotten better with time. In 2005 it was only for one week, now it's 2. This year the teams get their own personal Imagineer mentor to help them flush the rest of their ideas out and prepare them for the final contest presentation for an entire week (in 2005 we only got about an hour of mentoring time, not 2 weeks) . On top of that they get to tour every Disney local, from the concert hall, to WDI, to backstage Disneyland and even tours of Los Angeles. If that's not enough during the weeks the finalists will meet up for presentations given by top imagineers on how WDI does what they do and do so well. I'm crossing my fingers for him, the contest is fun and I hope he does well. I'll keep you all posted!!!
