So, if you guys haven't watched...the making of the Little Mermaid includes none other than Mr. Dreamworks himself Jeffery Katzenberg. I about fell out of my chair when I saw it.

I thought for about a minute that maybe the interview was old, but looking at him......the footage is very recent in my opinion, as he does look much older than when he departed Disney shortly after the Lion King.

It's interesting what Disney has been able to do since Eisner left....I never imagined seeing Katzenberg on any DVD that had a Disney logo, especially considering the reasons behind his departure and the animosity that it created. I'm glad to see that some have not burned all of their bridges.

It's very clear that relationships that soured between people and the Walt Disney Company patched up a bit after Eisner left. It makes me hopeful that Katzenberg, Spielberg, George Lucas and others will enter into more joint projects with Disney.

Is it too much to hope that the theme park / animation heyday of the late 80s and early 90s may be repeated sometime soon?

Little Mermaid becomes the best selling October DVD release in history. It's nice to hear stuff like this, but it's only a single month out of a year...so I suppose that it should be taken with a grain of salt (or something...I don't even know if that phrase even works here....it just....came to mind).

Very positive though for Mermaid, it has some great extra features, but I also think the making of is a little lacking, definitely not as in depth as the Beauty and the Beast one was.

Hopefully it'll continue to do well.
