News Kali River Rapids closing for annual refurbishment in early January 2025

According to the Walt Disney World refurbishment calendar, Kali River Rapids is closing for its annual refurbishment beginning January 6, 2025. A reopening date has not yet been made available.

I know this is the standard time to take KRR down, but I can't help but wonder if they'll do small refurbishes on the other rides at AK following Kali reopening to get them working for when Bugs Life and DINOSAUR are closed.

Disney has added the following refurbishment timeline on the Kali River Rapids page:

Kali River Rapids will temporarily close for refurbishment on January 6, 2025, and is expected to reopen in March 2025.

I always wonder....is it a refurb for real, or is it closed because of low ridership and cash needed to staff and operate?
Is the refurb really not as long, they just keep it closed longer?
