Kali extended to Everest?

I heard, from an unproven source, that the reason Kali is so short is that when built it was supposed to have been a part of an eventual Matterhorn type attraction. But because of budgeting they only put in an appreviated rapids ride with the intentions of extending the ride with another lift hill to incorporate the mountain scenery and theming. This is the reson the ride seems shorter than normal to many people. Does anyone know if they will reroute and extend Kali as planned in the original version???:veryconfu  :veryconfu

There is always a chance....but the question is, if there is space to extend Kali towards the Everest...I don't think so...would be nice though...

Nope, I don't think there is any space. As of now, there is a big amount of space right behind the lift hill on Kali, but that will be the Everest queue and resturaunt areas.

There's absolutely no chance of Kali RR being expanded. Given the terrain and location of the current attraction and it's surroundings, there would have to be substantial downtime, to complete such a complex rehab. There is no sign of integrating it with the construction of EE, and frankly, I don't thyink Disney can afford to close the attraction for an extended period of time.

Given the terrain? Excuse me? Are we not talking about the same company that excavated over 6 square miles to build 7 seas lagoon?

Excuse me? Building something of the magnitute of 7 Seas Lagoon is one thing, but to take the time and effort to add a few hundred feet to an exsting attraction? Come on. If they had intended Kali RR to be a longer attraction, they would have made it so when the built it.

Dream all you want, it's not going to happen. Could it? probably. Will it? NO.

Kindly point out to me in my posts where I said I wanted this to happen. All I was stating was Disney has the capability to build something like this. Settle down

Eventually, you'll learn what the business is all about, son. It's certainly not just "digging a trench." If you think that, then maybe it's not too late to change majors.

That is what I was thinking when I first heard about this, that is why I believe this was/is the plan for Kali. I also heard that this concept is what eventually inspired the rapids ride at DCA. Hopefully Kali could still be incorporated into EE, with caves, waterfalls etc but I guess we will have to wait and see.

I dont know why they would spend money on extending an existing ride, when the park needs additional rides. Kali is short, but it does a decent job of getting ppl wet, how long do you really want it, how wet do you really want to get?

If they had the money to spend on extending Kali, they should invest it in new attractions...maybe put something substantial out at Rafiki's planet watch, or create a new animal trail with Pandas and whatnot.

Why couldn't most of the work be done to extend Kali while it's still operating?

Have most of the construction/themeing done except for where it's gong to tie back in to the current ride.
