Hey everyone! We returned from the World this week so I thought I would give a quick report.
We were there from 12/2-12/9 and stayed off property this time. We stayed at Vistana Resorts which is about 5 minutes from Downtown Disney. It was a really nice resort. Not Disney by any means but nice.
The crowds were not that bad. In the MK lines were minimal. The updates to The Haunted Mansion are very cool! For those who have not seen them I won't spoil anything for you. There are quite a few changes though and they liven things up a bit. I noticed that Buzz Lightyear is taking a beating. The ride was looking a bit tattered. Still a fun ride though. The lights on Cindy's Castle were amazing! The most beautiful thing I have ever seen.
Epcot looked strange without Mickey's hand and the wand on it. It looks kind of plain. Spaceship Earth was still not open. For the first time ever we waited 90 minutes for Soarin. The sign said 60 minutes but it was 90. But, there are some cool new things to keep you busy in line now. Very creative games that involve everyone in line.
We didn't go to MGM or AK this time so I can't comment on those parks. I did do something different this time pertaining to transportation that saved a few bucks. We parked at DTD and used the buses to take us to a resort and then to whatever park we were going to that day. Since the resorts are decorated for the holidays, it was nice to be able to see them while we make good use of Disney Transportation. If you're going anytime soon and haven't ever seen it, go to the Grand Floridian and see the ginger bread house. Very cool!
That's about all I have for this trip. Wish we were still there.
