Just received something in the mail today from Disney using a special PIN# for a discount package on certain dates. I am already booked to go Dec. 1-6, airfare paid for on Southwest and all dining reservation made. I also have tickets for MVMCP on Dec 4. With the package deal I would save $400.00 but would have to change my dates to Dec. 15-20. I usually go every year the week after Thanksgiving and am kind of worried about the crowds if I changed it to a week closer to Christmas. Also would I be able to swap my MVMCP tickets for a new date and get all the ADR's I want? Decisions, decisions. Sorry for the long post.

MVMCP tickets are non-refundable. You could ask . Worst case, you might be able to sell them on ebay.

ADRs might be hard to get, but you could try before you make the switch and if you can't get satisfactory ADRs that might impact your decision. As I understand it, the week after your Thanksgiving is one of the best times to go crowd-wise, but two weeks later shouldn't be too bad, the week after that would be crazy.

I don't know anything about Southwest and how easy it is to change flights, but a phone call should resolve that.

Decisions, decisions, yes... But Disney decisions are always fun! :D

Depends on how much the money means to you. But to me sometimes paying more is worth avoiding the hassles. If it was me I'd probably stay with the current arrangements.

They are infact non-refundable...but there are times when they let you transfer them...it really depends on what supervisor you talk to but I have heard of it happening. Doesn't hurt to ask.

As for crowds. the 15-20 of December is a great time to go...we've done it in 2006 and 2007. We were booked for this year but decided to skip a year so we could afford Disneyland in 2009. I hear that the week after Thanksgiving is usually pretty uncrowded, The 15th through the 20th will probably be ALITTLE heavier, but because of where Christmas falls this year, area schools are still in session during that week. The weather will probably be alittle cooler too! I remember 2 of the days we were there last year the temperature didn't get above 60! (DEFINITELY NOT NORMAL....lol, please don't come back from your trip PMing me yelling at me because it was 80 your whole trip!) It really made the free hot cocoa worth it at the Christmas Party!

And if you're worried about ADRs, I would try calling WDW-DINE now and see what they have available. plan your dinners just like what you already have for your current dates and see how closely you can match it up. Remember to try to be flexible...give or take an hour from what you currently have booked...maybe you might have to eat lunch at one of the restaurants instead of a dinner?

To me, 400 bucks is 400 bucks. Don't forget if you have a Disney Visa they were doing free dining during those dates too if you booked a room and a Magic Your Way ticket!!! So even if you can't transfer your MVMCP tickets, you're savings will still be pretty significant!

Hope it all works out!

EDIT: Oh yeah, and another response to Monty's post...usually, as long as you didn't book the Southwest Internet Only offer, their tickets are usually transferable...I've never had a problem in my dealings with them!

Depending on how long you've had your plane tickets, I'd check those prices first. I had received a pretty good offer earlier this summer that would have required me to change my reservation from the 3rd week in December to the week before Thanksgiving. When I checked airfare, it would have ended up costing me about $1000.00 more to switch.

I'm booked Dec. 14-23. I can tell you that ADR's for the period you'd have to move to are available but tight. And nothing at some of the more popular places. Within the past three days, I have made ADR's that week at Boma, Teppan Edo, Maya Grill, Narcoossee's, Crystal Palace, and Biergarten. But I have failed to get ADR's at Le Cellier, Ohana, Liberty Tree Tavern, Chef Mickey's, Cape May Cafe.
