OK... so I am now planning this great trip for December of this year. We went last Feb and couldn't wait to go back! I discovered that since we are staying for 8 days, an annual pass will pay for itself the first time we use it.... so now I figure out that if I had bought the pass last time we went we could be going this Dec and not having to pay for the park passes... since there are 5 of us who need passes (1 being a child), I could have saved over $2200... ARRRRRRGHHHHHH!!!!!!! Now we are thinking we will go back in less than year to save the dollars the next time around but I was literally feeling queasy thinking about how much we could have saved.....

Am I the only one who has done something like this??? Now I am obsessed about trying to find out all the tricks and tips and cost cutting measures so I don't have this happen again!!! It would help if I find out that I am not the only one to have done something like this~

Well, I am not dying because of it.. just kinda irritated ya know??

I thank you greatly for tha AP advice actually because now we can go back in less than a year and save then money then...!!!

I am not sure I would have looked into annual passes. (What was I thinking?! or NOT thinking)

I figure I just better go and make $10M so I don't ever have to bother worrying about any of this nasty money stuff!!!

Each park hopper pass costs somewhere around $390 for 8 days per adult and $335 for a child. It is the same for an annual pass. (unless I got it wrong somewhere!) $390 x 5 = $1950 then add the $335 for a grand total of more than $2200!

Ok, I understand now. You paid the gate price instead of getting an advance purchase discount and/or the Disney Club discount. Had you taken advantage of the advance purchase discount you could have saved $161.88 or had you used the Disney Club discount then you would have saved $259.86. Also, AAA and some independent ticket wholesalers offer some very good discounts as well. You might want to check with Pam (Kingdom Konsultant) and ask her to refer you to Omar at Maple Leaf Tickets. I understand they offer some very good discounts. WDW ticket prices are very difficult to understand because of all the special deals they run (not to mention the renewal discounts). Yes, you are right. If you are going to visit WDW for 8 days or more per year then AP's are the way to go. Also, if you decide to purchase AP's the Disney Club discount is about 4%. Unfortunately AAA stopped selling the AP's this year although they still sell the Florida resident AP. There are other discounts as well for which you might qualify depending upon your employment and some other factors. Good luck and have a great trip!
