Welcome to WDWMagic mickeymunn!

I'll try to answer your questions as best as I can.

1. I've never stayed at the Fairfield Inn at Marriott Village, but I have stayed at the Springhill Suites, which is right next door. Since they're both owned by Marriott, I would think that they'd be the same, as the Springhill was a very nice hotel.

2. There are a few stores in the area, along with some great restaurants. If you like seafood, I would try Landry's, an excellent restaurant near your hotel.

3. I've never attempted the walk, but I would think it'd take 20-30 minutes tops.

4. Not too sure about that question.

5. Sanford is about a 45 minute drive from Lake Buena Vista. Try Mapquest.com for driving directions.

6. I'll go ahead and list what attractions will be closed or will be under refurbishment.

Magic Kingdom:
“it's a small world” – closed through March 18, 2005
The Timekeeper - closing August 14th; operates seasonally
Magic Carpets of Aladdin – closed September 13 – October 15
Ariel's Grotto – closed September 22 – November 19

Epcot
Wonders of Life pavilion - closed; operates seasonally.

Disney MGM Studios
No rehabs or closures scheduled.

Disney's Animal Kingdom
The Boneyard – closed September 20 – October 14

Also, you may just be able to experience a brand new attraction at the Magic Kingdom, Stitch's Great Escape, which has been rumored to open on October 1st.

I hope the information I provided will be helpful to you, and if you have anymore questions, please ask! :)

You won't experience any major crowds at all, except near the end of your trip. The Columbus Day holiday is on Monday, October 11th, and since it's a three-day weekend, it can get pretty crowded. That's the only time you should have a problem.

Actually, October is considered one of the best times to go, behind the first two weeks of December and all of January and September, because of the small crowds. Also, it won't be as hot as September, so expect some nice weather.

As for the times of fireworks and parades, here are the links to October park hours and the times of nighttime shows and parades.

Magic Kingdom

Epcot

Disney MGM Studios

Disney's Animal Kingdom

By clicking on the date, you will be directed to a page with parades and fireworks times.

Anymore questions? Please feel free to ask! :)

You can count on Illuminations every night at Epcot at 9pm.
You can get discounted Cirque tickets at www.ticketmania.com
October can be busy or it can be quiet, it is a coin toss.
www.allearsnet.com posts hours and attractions on her site or you can get all this information on www.disneyworld.com .
